Hornets 21 RFA Black Knights 7
Your #8 state ranked Hornets fought their way through tropical storm Tammy and a stubborn RFA squad to remain unbeaten and move to 6-0. The passing game was limited due to the soaking rains so Coach Muench turned to Collin Simmons and the run game to lead the way. Collin answered with 242 yards on 33 carries and 3 touchdowns, Bobby D finished with a tough 51 yards on 12 carries. Chris Anderson, Mike Arthur and the rest of the O-line did an absolutely phenomenal job blocking for the FM backs.

After the Black Knights took a 7-6 lead into halftime, the Hornet defense took charge and stifled the Black Knights holding them to 122 total yards for the game. The Hornets were able to keep RFA’s quick RB Mike Mason in check. Mason finished with 48 yards most of those coming in their only scoring drive in the second quarter.

While the Hornet offense has been amazing this year averaging 43 point per game, the Hornet defense has been an unrecognized force. They have averaged giving up only 7 points per game and if you take away the 27 of the first half of the Utica Proctor game that average drops to a measly 3 points.

Up next for the Hornets are the Henniger Black Knights. Henniger is coming off a surprising loss to Utica Proctor Friday night and they will be fuming mad for a victory. With the Henniger loss to UP, the Hornets are assured of a share of the AA2 title. Now the importance of the game shifts to playoff seeding. With a win the Hornets will tie up a 1 seed, with a loss they would be a #2 seed and Henniger would be the #1 seed.
